"We're excited to be part of the Innovation Center and helping to advance high tech in the Spokane area."
- Cody Flavel, Founder & Owner
Northwest Installation & Commissioning (NWIC) is a Spokane-based wireless tower subcontractor that was launched in 2007 by Cody Flavel. Flavel's interest in wireless telecommunications came from his work as a field radio operator in the Marines. Following his military service, he earned a bachelor's degree in telecommunications management and worked as a technician and then as a construction manager for network deployment for a number of telecommunications companies before founding NWIC.
NWIC provides the following services:
- Audits - tower top, cell site and radio audits
- Installation - power bays, batteries, BTSs, microwave radios and other equipment that can be installed on a cell site
- Commissioning - microwave radio testing to power bay commissioning. Commissioning TDMA, CDMA, GSM or UMTS
NWIC also installs equipment for wireless carriers that provide 4G broadband service to cellular phones. In its first year of operations, NWIC realized $100,000 in sales, and by 2009, its annual sales shot up to $1.2 million.
